Tzeva is a social- educational organization which operates enrichment centers across Israel. These centers provide educational, social and behavioral support to children who might otherwise fall through the gaps of the traditional educational system.
The Tzeva framework is designed for children in the 3rd through 6th grades and provides additional support in order to strengthen the children and enable them to cope with educational, social and emotional hardships. The children are chosen by the school staff according to a wide array of considerations and are provided a specialized curriculum, which takes into account each child’s strengths, values, norms of behavior, and weaknesses. This curriculum serves as the basis for both the individual and joint work that is done with each child throughout the school year; it also provides a unique solution to the child’s needs in addition to the existing educational system. This help contributes to the improvement of the social- behavioral and educational areas.
Tzeva has gained both momentum and appreciation, and in 2015 we are operating in 17 centers in Israel, from Acco in the North to Beer Sheva in the South! Each year Tzeva hosts about 450 children and over 800 volunteers, the majority participate on a weekly basis for two and a half hours. The volunteers come from different backgrounds: volunteers from the business community, students, soldiers, private volunteers, and 10th grade students as a part of their “personal commitment” to the community.
